We understand that every business will have been affected differently by Covid-19. Whilst some have been very busy meeting key supply chain needs, a large number will have seen some reduction in sales activity, if not a complete wipe-out of sales and closure of manufacturing/servicing facilities.
With our clients that we work with on a regular and on-going basis, we have seen some similar trends over the last 3 weeks, including:
- An initial uncertainty about the likely impacts of Covid-19
- The realisation of the impact and the need to act
- Assessing and accessing government support where possible
- Furloughing of staff and cost reduction strategies
- Cash retention strategies to support businesses over the medium term.
Having been through these processes, we now find that we are in something of a holding pattern, waiting for either further reduction in sales (at worst) or some signs that business activity is re-starting.
We have seen recently, further clarification from the government in relation to who should and should not be continuing to work as this has not always been clear. This suggests that businesses should be operating if they can do so safely and can ensure the social distancing requirements for employees and customers are met. This may start to change the levels of activity for some businesses, although the real change is likely to be when the restrictions on movement have been lifted.
We feel that now is the right time for owners and managers to start thinking about how their business will come out of the current holding pattern and hopefully return to normality. There will be lots of decisions to make, all in what is still a very uncertain environment. We believe we can help with these challenging decisions.
We are offering a strategic planning workshop to help you define the possible scenarios, make decisions based on these scenarios and consider a broad range of your business’s activities including:
- Customers, market sectors and likely recovery from Covid-19
- Business development and marketing activities
- Customer contact program
- New product or service opportunities
- Supply chain including strengths of suppliers, gaps in supply, alternative suppliers
- Stock holding, sales opportunities, alternative customers or rationing
- Employee management plan, including; Right sizing the team for the activity levels, Retaining key individuals even if not required yet, Recruiting additional resource that may have come to market.
- Continued or renewed cost reduction programs
- Cash generation from surplus assets
- Restructuring banking or funding facilities
- Ensuring benefiting from all government support initiatives
- Cashflow forecasting
- Accessing appropriate and sufficient funds to support the activities and potential losses.
This is an unusual but specific opportunity to reimagine your business and a chance to make some of the changes that may have always seemed appealing but were too difficult to implement.
Restart your business leaner and better to take advantage of when we return to the new normal so you can hit the ground running and be ahead of the competition.
Our work is underpinned by the methodology, processes and tools created by the Mindshop group over 30 years.
The planning session will be held over 2 days, facilitated by two members of our consulting team, to ensure we can break out and cover specific and separate areas of the business in relevant teams. The meeting will be facilitated via video conferencing facilities to ensure we meet current working practices, the output being a clear set of actions for you to take forward.
We will continue to support you throughout the 90-day period, via unlimited email and telephone contact.
We appreciate that funds may be limited to undertake a planning exercise and therefore we will defer payment of our fees, with nothing to pay for 90 days, and the settlement of the fees in 9 equal instalments thereafter.
The fee for the session, clear action plan and on-going support is £2,500 plus VAT.

All businesses are now being affected by COVID-19 and with Government policy being continually updated, it is difficult for most businesses to know exactly what the future holds.
One thing we are sure of is that the world is not going to end and we are committed to supporting our clients through the challenges they are experiencing and making them best placed to come out the other side stronger, more robust and agile as a result.
As members of Mindshop, which is an international group of business coaches and advisors, we have access to a structured plan to help identify, plan and overcome many of the challenges that may arise from COVID–19.
We are looking to schedule ½ day virtual
sessions with our clients and businesses concerned with how to address their
current issues and work with them to formulate a plan.
If you would like to have an initial chat
with Chris to discuss booking in a half day session, or around the support we
can provide, please call us on 07730 284 229 or email chris@greyandgreen.co.uk
